Set up a new league

Before setup #

Use a Discord server you administer. Decide the league name, season calendar year, advance window and timezone, and how teams will be claimed. Put the bot high enough in the role hierarchy to manage its staff and team roles.

Run the setup wizard #

Choose the new-server path when FranchiseOS should create its standard league structure. Choose migration for a server with community channels you want to preserve.

1. Run /setup and complete the private wizard.
2. Review the league identity, staff assignment, channel plan, and claim behavior before confirming.
3. Use the private EA link to connect a Madden commissioner account and select the intended franchise.
4. Run /madden refresh scope:all-weeks for the initial full season import.
5. Review /madden status and /league checkup.
6. Assign GMs, have them set timezones, and confirm the imported schedule before opening rooms.
7. Advance in Madden first; use /week advance to synchronize the bot's playable phase and prepare rooms.

Verify the result #

Confirm the expected league, year, platform and franchise, all needed roster coverage, staff access, and current/next-week rooms. Setup or sync warnings should be resolved before treating the league as ready.

If you are still simming preseason, pause game-room creation as described in Preseason and season rollover. Do not reset the league just to change the season or repair missing channels.
