Handle preseason, playoffs, and season rollover
Keep a league intact through non-playable phases and move to a new season deliberately.
Sync while simming preseason
Set /league edit game-channels:false before syncing or simming preseason if you want rosters and schedules imported without creating new matchup rooms. Existing rooms remain. Once Madden reaches the intended regular season, refresh, restore game-channels:true, and use the normal advance/room workflow.
Preseason and regular-season games use separate imported phase information. A preseason week number is not automatically the same as a regular-season week number. Historical labels should follow the saved game phase.
Playoffs and offseason
Playoff views become meaningful after Madden supplies postseason schedule data. The non-playable Pro Bowl slot is not an ordinary missing game week. During free agency and the draft, manage those activities in Madden; do not increment the scheduling clock to imitate offseason stage counters.
Start a new season without resetting the league
Keep the existing league and EA connection. Set the league's season to the new Madden calendar year deliberately; a refresh does not automatically change that setting. Changing the season clears the old active-week clock and migration cutover settings while retaining prior season records.
- Finish the prior playoffs and progress through the offseason in Madden.
- Refresh roster changes and reconnect EA if required.
- When Madden's new regular season is ready, use
/league edit season:<new calendar year>. - Run a full-season refresh and check the franchise, year, phase and schedule coverage.
- Run
/week advanceafter the Madden phase is ready, then verify current and next-week rooms. - Review season-scoped economy balances and pending rewards before rollover; old-season tickets or unapplied upgrades follow their refund/archive rules.
