FRANCHISEOS GUIDES
How to set up a Madden franchise Discord bot
FranchiseOS is a Discord-first Madden franchise league management platform with a companion web dashboard. It brings scheduling, team claims, roster research, trade negotiations, and commissioner decisions into the same league workflow. It is built for Madden NFL 27 connected franchise leagues, often called CFM leagues.
What does a Madden league bot do?
A league bot helps a commissioner coordinate the people playing a franchise. Instead of rebuilding matchup posts and collecting availability in scattered messages, general managers can use shared scheduling tools. Imported Madden data gives roster, standings, and trade discussions a common reference point.
FranchiseOS runs those workflows in Discord and exposes the same underlying league data in a browser. The dashboard is a companion interface, not a separate franchise save. It does not replace Madden or play games for your members.
Install and connect FranchiseOS
Start from Get access on the FranchiseOS website. Starter is free: no application, payment card, or purchase is required to install the bot. A server administrator should handle installation and initial setup using their Discord account.
- Choose Add the Discord bot under Starter and select the Discord server you administer. Review the requested permissions before authorizing installation.
- Run /setup in that server. Choose the guided setup for a fresh league or an existing server, then review staff roles and channel destinations.
- A commissioner runs /madden connect, signs in on EA's page, and selects the correct platform, persona, and franchise. Check the franchise selection carefully if multiple leagues have similar names.
- Run /madden refresh, then /madden status to check the connected franchise, last successful update, and data coverage.
- Review team claims and general manager assignments. Members sign into the dashboard with the Discord account linked to their league access.
Is the Madden Discord bot free?
Starter includes league setup, team ownership, basic Discord commands such as /team roster and /player, and the dashboard overview, schedule, and standings. Members can use these basics without buying dashboard access.
Individual unlocks the full dashboard for one account across its existing leagues. League unlocks it for every member of one league, paid by a commissioner. A member already covered by a League subscription does not need Individual for that league. AI generation is a separate optional add-on; review the current prices and limits on Get access.
To upgrade a server where the bot is already installed, sign into Get access with the Discord account that administers it and choose Find my server if it is not listed. You do not need to remove and reinstall the bot or complete /setup before upgrading. Guided setup and a Madden connection are still needed to populate league features.
Can an existing Discord league keep its channels?
Yes. The guided existing-server workflow can adopt supported channel destinations. Review the mappings before completing setup so league information goes to the channels your members already use. A general manager is the person assigned to a team; a commissioner is league staff, and does not need to be described as a team owner.
What is synced, and what stays in Madden?
Available imports include teams, rosters, schedules, results, standings, player statistics, injuries, and transactions. Coverage depends on what EA returns and what has been imported. A recent roster update does not necessarily mean every week's player statistics are present; check the timestamps and coverage in Madden status.
Commissioners still manage the franchise itself in Madden. Approved trades and reward upgrades require in-game execution. Reconnecting an EA account may be necessary if access expires. If your league creates a replacement franchise, select that franchise during connection rather than assuming an identical league name refers to the same save.
What should commissioners look for in a CFM bot?
Look for clear sync timestamps, reliable scheduling, permission-aware staff tools, and a way to preserve decisions and availability. Test a full week with your league: assign teams, submit availability, confirm a game, report completion, and check the imported final. Those everyday workflows matter more than the length of a feature list.
FranchiseOS is an independent community product, not an official EA, Discord, or NFL service. Try the public product tour before connecting a live league, and review the privacy policy before granting access.
